The MAIN TOWER in Frankfurt, a 200-meter-high office building, was the first existing building in Germany to be certified with LEED EBOM 2009 (v3) in 2011.

Since 2014, Alpha IC has successfully led the MAIN TOWER to the following LEED re-certifications:

  • 2016: LEED Platin in version v3
  • 2021: LEED Gold in version v4.1
  • 2025: LEED Gold in version v4.1

In addition, Alpha IC prepared an operating cost analysis, handled the tendering and awarding of facility management services and supported the FM service provider in the start-up phase.

Despite continuous further development and the annual tightening of certification requirements, the MAIN TOWER consistently impresses with its strong performance in the area of sustainability.

Sustainable solutions are used in every detail of the building: for example, the modern high-performance heating and cooling ceiling uses intelligent systems to save around 30 percent energy compared to conventional construction methods. Heating and cooling systems can be controlled decentrally via individual room and zone control.
