The NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO plant of the Nestlé conglomerate is located in Schwerin in the west of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Alpha IC von Henn Architekten was commissioned to provide green building and energy design & simulation services for the company's plant, which was built in 2013 and opened in 2014. In addition to carrying out a pre-assessment with the development of a gold and platinum strategy for building certification, Alpha IC was responsible for simulating the annual energy requirements and providing support in determining the energy requirements from renewable energies. The focus was also on the use of rainwater for toilets and urinals.
